help , Blackhawk 98261

Hello, my Blackhawk 98261 wire feeds but won't arc, I have had it 25 yrs with only 1 issue before, I noticed a spliced in little object, it is 1/2 inch long with some numbers printed on it. Pointed at one end and is surrounded with a tube of cardboard , and is threaded through one of the coils . Just wondering if I could get one at a local electrical shop . Can you tell me what it is so I can get one. Thanks.

It would also help if you've got a wiring diagram for this machine.

At a wild guess it's a thermal trip.
