Well yes the caddy is a lot better than the others but the price will be higher. Can you get the ESAB acdc for 1500??????????

The latest models have the graphics as the one on Amazon.
Mine is two years like the pic from Wilstar, identical specs.
Not sure if the one on Amazon comes with a torch. The package described on Parwelds site is without torch.

Having worked for a french company for 10 years that is not an indication of quality I'm afraid. Just my opinion, but it does come backed up with 10 years of experience of fixing their defects on brand new equipment.
Having owned a Renault for 2 years (now gone thankfully) has not changed my opinion either.

Fair enough. Can't ague with that. Although I've owned 2 mark one pug 306 DTurbos. Amazing little rattle boxes Both went 200k plus. I also in my younger days paid a stupid amount of money to insure an old xsi. Loved that car and at 19 it was the dog dangles. Sure the French ain't gonna compete with our German welders or cars or tools etc but some stuff is ok and I think the Newer Gys inverter range seems to be good stuff.

Yes, it wasn't aimed at gys, just a general observation and I'm sure some French stuff does stack up. I actually really like facom tools and have had their spanners and socket sets for years.
In fairness I actually also think some German stuff trades on their (perceived) reputation rather than actual quality.
I'd love to know the answer to this question too. I am getting a little bonus shortly and a big birthday is also on the horizon so I may be able to spoil myself. I have had my eye on the Thermal Arc for some time. My head suggests the Parweld is identical but my heart is set on on the Thermal Arc. Cosmetically the Parweld just looks cheaper. I would like to dump the weird torch with the power adjuster thingy, replace it with a wee flexible torch and spend the extra on a pedal though.
