Hi all,
I picked up an SIP 2300 helmet the other day and used it on Monday for the first time and it worked lovely apart from a mild buzzing sound.
Then yesterday I went to use it again and got a nasty arc flash. I and found the battery warning light was now on so left it in the sun thinking this would start to charge the battery before starting work again but this didn't work at all.
However the buzzing sound continued and I found it was coming from the battery warning light/test button. After messing around for a while I found that the buzzing speed whenever I placed my hand over the solar cells.
Does anyone know why the buzzing sound stops when the solar cells are covered/charging is this normal for these types of helmets and should the solar cells recharge the batteries is left in the sun long enough?
Any advise would be great,
Johnj.
