Welding a '66 Mustang ...

Only discovered this site a few weeks back but it is proving invaluable as a source of info and discussion.
I have a '66 Mustang fastback needing total resto and am currently on a City & Guilds welding course one night a week for 17 weeks - probably won't take the exam as I don't need it for my job ...
... but there's a lot of welding to be done on the car and I've always fancied learning the skill so jumped in with both feet.
Going to get sorted with a small home welder in the next few weeks - reading some comments on here has put me off one make and more onto another but we'll see - budget £220ish - have read loads of threads already on what choice to make.
Can't wait for the weather to pick up a bit - me to gain the confidence to strike that first arc up in my own garage and commence work on the car ...
Will post in other sections as we go.
It's nice being here guys!
Edit: I might add that new floors have been welded in (badly) - structurally they're okay but they just look rubbish! So going to grind down and cover over with a nice bead all round ...
One rear wing is 99% welded on (not too bad this time) but the other is only tacked at the top - ideal for me to finish off ...
Can put up some pics of the dreadful welding on some parts of the car if anyone is interested ...
