Hello from North Wales

Greetings from the hills of Southern Snowdonia.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself; I`m presently working on restoring my Series III Landy......30 years of rust-worm has taken it`s toll and I have plans to repair the chassis` flakiness....so expect many questions about patching rust holes etc.
My old "Lazarus-Landy" is a daily workhorse; only used off-road, about the homestead for hauling, winching and reaching the mountain fields....it`s old and uncomfortable to drive, but I love it.

I learned to stick weld (too) many years ago; but I`m new to MIG....there`s much to learn, but I`m looking forward to it.

You're not short of fellow landy owners on here, there are several with them in various states of repair.
Lovely dogs, I can't get mine to sit still for two seconds let alone long enough to pose for a pic like that .

Welcome to the forum. Thats a nice pic of the landy and the dogs.

If thats a derv (or red) pump at the side of the building make sure you take steps to protect it. Be sure it cant be seen from any roads, tracks or public pathways. Lots of thieving going on these days with the price of fuel.

What are the angled boxes on top of the wings for? my guess would be used to house emergency stops for the capstan?

Spot-on Stuart
It`s an ex-GPO (latterly B.T) winch truck....`had two HUGE red push-to-stop panic buttons on those brackets.
I`ve tried to remove the welded-up mounts many times, but I fear the elderly wings wouldn`t survive the force needed to free off the rounded/rusty (anti-tamper) type nuts and bolts.

I have "an arrangement" with my employer; a large aircraft manufacturer here in North Wales....hangar-space and runway length not being too much of an issue there.
