Welcome to the site, come on.... don't be shy..tell us what you bought..we promise not to take the mickey.
Regarding the arc set, short bursts of weld are common on a lot of the cheapies before overheating, has it got a cooling fan (turbo), if not then adding one to blow through the machines vents can make a lot of difference.
i bought a supermig 150/5 secondhand are they any good? about the arc welder it doesnt have a turbo, would a normal household fan work very well, cheers for the welcomecheersi bought a supermig 150/5 secondhand are they any good? about the arc welder it doesnt have a turbo, would a normal household fan work very well, cheers for the welcome
Anything that can push a bit of fresh air through it will always help to extend the welding times.
Depends on your elecrical knowledge, some people use a normal household fan, others use a big PC case fan and run it off a cheap power convertor at 12volts.
Not had any experience of the supermigs, a lot of people have them so I should imagine if serviced with good liner and tips etc it will do you spot on.
hopefullywhen the mig is working properly i will be able to get my car ready for its mot,but as it is going not so well at the moment with the mig it may take some time.ive posted my problem in the sealey section, cheers.
