I'm new here and reasonably new to welding as well. Not much experience over the years.
I've bought myself a second hand MightyMig 100.
Just to do a couple of jobs on my transit really before the next MOT..
It only cost me £40 and on the info that the feed motor was gone on it. But being a sparky most of my life I had to have a dig inside. Lol.
What I'd like to know. Is.
Where you can see that the circuit board has gone would it be OK to solder a length of wire in its place? And if so would any type and thickness do? As I assume its only running the 12v side of things. The previous owner told me that the wire was always sticking in the tip for him so he changed the liner to a bigger bore.
I'm thinking that maybe he just kept pressing the button in the hope wire would come out and it just gave in. So myself I don't see any issues in doing this but would like a second opinion. Thanks
