Recently ventured into mig with the intention of doing my own metal work on some old project cars and making a few bits for some of my bikes, thought i better introduce myself before asking a load of stupid questions.
My name is Steve im a 43 year old man child according to the wife, been driving a class 1 for the last few years and realised the extra time i spent working to make money for welding and fab was leaving me too knackered to do anything with them, built a workshop last year and decided i want some time tinkering with a mind of building a tube chassis at a later date.

im assuming by pics you mean of the cars and bikes Frank ? car is nothing fancy at the minute and covered in dust in the lockup, its a stock 1.8 is NB MX5 as i wanted to get back into a small two seater for some weekend trackdays, i did Le Mans classic with a mate a couple of years ago in his MK1 Eunos and loved it, plan was to fit the AJ30 jag V6 and do the full Rocketeer conversion but after driving one i realised i missed revving out a four cylinder and wanted the induction noise along with the throttle response of throttle bodies, i have bought a set of the DanSt bike bodies and sent a cylinder head up to Andy at AL Developments to have a port, polish and valve job along with a decent skim for a compression bump.
bike wise i have a 96 MK1 1200 bandit half stripped waiting for a big valve head, some cams, a usd front end with k tech internals from a ZX9R and a reworked K5 GSXR1000 rear shock, the daily bike is a 2022 T120 black with a few bolt ons, main car was a TD5 Disco 2 but ive just done a days mig training and decided i need a van so done a swap with a mate for his lwb Transit connect.
will get some pics up of my crap at some point and the planned welding table once i have made it.

sadly no longer with me, i bought a MK5 lightly modified crusader on pistonheads when i was working overseas came home and did 1600 miles in four days it was a brilliant car, i wanted a two door though so made plans to source a pair of long doors and do the full conversion, luckily before i pulled the trigger on it a mate found me a genuine two door MK5 that had been converted to BOA 24V cosworth running gear so i bought that and dailied it for two years, was a seriously fun car until i lost it on the way to work doing a tad over the speed limit of M3 and bent every corner before throwing it through a bus stop, once im confident in my welding and i have space cleared in the lockup i will be looking for another MK5.
there is a reason my social circle calls me Wreckit Ralph .
