Hi all,
Complete beginner trying to get into welding as a hobby. A few years ago I bought a cheap stick welder from Lidl. Wasn't very impressed as it seemed to over heat after 1 or 2 full 2.5mm rods and that was with breaks. Ideally I'd love to drop 5/600 on a Mig but I would like to learn MMA first.
My question, should I go for one of the wee zx7 from eBay or something like a Parweld 160A inverter? I can get bits of scrap plate, angle and 3mm sheet etc from work to practice with. Won't ever be doing anything heavy, maybe when I get someway decent a 3.2mm rod would be needed. What's your advice?
