I seem to remeber the training folk saying 30 mins if you are wearing a survival suit and have three layers of clothing
Lucky if you make 30 mins as there are others things that will have a good go at ending your life first

Force of impact, drowning, getting chopped up and then if your really unlucky fireLike the North sea![]()
not worried about anythingDon't worry about the sharks in North Sea @Parm they like dinner their hot
if the ship went down anyone that couldnt swim died in minutes . anyone that could took a fair bit longer and swam till they could no longer and died or got hypothermia
I've done the HUET course a dozen times, each time I'm terrified to begin with, but enjoy it by the end.not worried about anything
i cant swim and terrified of water. If i go down im the first one to be killed to death
In fact the HUET course was more scary than going in a chopper as they repeatedly dunk you in the water, in a hopper it will only happen the once...
daughter had to do them when she was in the navy. then do them again when she got a job working offshore on the wind turbinesnot worried about anything

course u can just lay on your back and tread waterI don't like the sound of these HUET courses, I can swim but I don't float.![]()
was frighteningI've done the HUET course a dozen times, each time I'm terrified to begin with, but enjoy it by the end.
The last couple of courses I did in Stockton on Tees we used a rebreather, like a hot water bottle strapped to your chest, and you could re-breath your air up to a dozen breaths before it started to get a bit muggy. The secret was to give it a double blow up before you went underwater. You could easily stay submerged for well over a minute.
The one we had to do up in Canadia we had to use a small air bottle, like a mini scuba tank the size of an aerosol. I had no end of trouble, couldn't breathe underwater, turned out mine was faulty..... got a new one and it was easy.

If you have ever been offshore, don’t think so, you’ll find there are no safety boats just chilling out at the site of a random chopper crashsafety boat picked me upwas frightening
Have you ever tried this in freezing cold North Sea water where your grasping for breath due to cold shockcourse u can just lay on your back and tread wateri nearly drowned once in a lake swam half a mile and floated after i was knacked and a safety boat picked me up
was frightening
I swam across Crookes Valley Pond last summer, about half way I realised I'm not nearly as fit as I thought, just about made it to the far side but there was no way I was swimming back, in the meantime my friends were doing laps.course u can just lay on your back and tread wateri nearly drowned once in a lake swam half a mile and floated after i was knacked and a safety boat picked me up
