Not got any tractor dealers? Most will have hydraulic pipe crimpers, May need to order in the ends you need but usually sparex or kramp will post next day to them.

Cant think of any in the area tbh.
Only ends id need is the banjo end. The other end i supply as it isnt a bog standard fitting.
The last guy brazed it to allow him to crimp the line on to it.

You can buy a gauge adaptor which offers the thread dimension changes from m12x1.5 to m10x1.0,
and its trivial to get banjo bolts in m10x1.0 thread.

Only caveat, if you use a brake banjo bolt, the holes need enlarging to match the oil flow requirements sometimes.
I think from memory my Landrover 90 has an adapter I made up by tapping the original large diameter banjo bolt of the new turbo, to match the smaller diamaters of the banjo's on the car and probably I'll have loctited the bush in so it stayed home (but the heat probably would ruin the bond anyway in time). The turbo is some built up from crap we had lying around unit so it had a right mix of housings and core, but its still on five years later and it passed emissions the other week.

But don't get offended if they say no, since I think its illegal to reterminate hoses with new ends now, or at least has real liability problems so they've been told not to...

You can't reduce a hole with a helicoil. It's to repair a thread that's been damaged. People often go up a size if the hole is really mullered but never down. I would fill it with weld and re drill it if you want to go smaller.

MrFluffy you wouldn't need to reterminate it, just make a new hose and stick some heat proof stuff (either Kevlar exhaust wrap or the stainless braiding stuff) over the top of the hose.

Understood dan, I make my own stainless hoses up from parts anyway. But if I walk in my local tractor shop with a spare hydraulic hose for the jcb out of my stash and ask them to shorten it to use somewhere else and put a new end on it, they refuse. I thought the op was going to to go his local hydraulics place and ask them to reterminate his "high pressure hose" with a different sized banjo fitting, at which point having heard the words "high pressure" (even though its technically not) the person behind the counter might think twice. The reason is if a high pressure hose end blows off in use, the hose can snake wildly around with the scalding hot oil being sprayed everywhere. People can and have been seriously hurt in this scenario, so its put the kybosh on doing that.

Yeah I know all about the dangers of hydraulic oil bursts, had a few go on loaders with a bale on, one wasn't even that old! As you've said 100psi in the grand scheme of things isn't high pressure tractors run at about 300bar so way higher.

Also I can't think I've been refused a hose been modified, then again I generally just change them for new.

I shouldnt really have called it a "high pressure" hose so sorry for the confusion.
In turbo terms it is on the high pressure side of the turbo cartridge as opposed to the low pressure oil return.
