Bought this from Winchman, it was covered in rust and heavily caked in grease. It went into a citric acid bath as soon as it arrived and then attacked with a brass wire brush, followed by some very light sanding with 800 and 1200 wet and dry. The slide mechanism and fine adjustment screw were dismantled, cleaned and put back together.
There’s some surface pitting from the rust but both sides of the gauge are perfectly readable and the slide mech and fine adjustment screw work nice and smooth. It’s quite accurate
