Heated clothing

I’ve had a pair of Gerbing G2 gloves and a pair of insoles for sometime. Intended for the M/cycle, I’ve been very thankful for the insoles while having to work outside in sub zero conditions, running off a small battery pack giving around 6hrs on low.

Most (if not all) other makes only heat the ball of your foot, these heat the lot. Same for the gloves all the way down the fingers and the thumb.


So xmas my wife bought me a jacket Today was the first chance to get a ride out, very cold and windy, but dry.
All I can say is wow, it’s HOT, infact the literature warns not to use high settings unless in -10. So I had it set on the lowest of 5. More panels, than any other manufacturer, neck, arms, front and back.
In town it was almost too hot, but once out on open roads, while I couldn’t feel the warmth, I certainly wasn’t cold.
Wore a t-shirt, the heated jacket and a armoured textile on top, toasty warm

I have had some german heated insoles for about ten years now, Excellent kit, Amazing how the small rechargeable batteries last a good six hours, Absolute god send for winter garage work, I have poor circulation and toes used to be frozen in the winter but not any more, I'm dreading the batteries going duff, probably be as well to buy a new complete set.

Was going to get the gloves for xmas off the Mrs but decided on something else, then my bike went walkabout so sort of glad

Gerbing batteries are pants. A pair of those is 65quid, I’ve gone through 3 pair, thankfully I pick them up cheap off bay-of-e. I’ve robbed the brains out of the old sets and rebuilt them into project boxes, to mount to my bikes.

Have a heated waistcoat, just one of the 7 layers to keep me warm/alive waiting up on Cadair Idris in the Winter, waiting for these guys to show up.

Great bit of kit could make it last 8 hours.

My insoles are made by Therm-ic, Would recommend them to anyone, Each battery is about the size of a cigarette packet, And has a spring clip that I slip onto the top of my rig boots, folks are always curious because the batteries each have a small red LED,

Sometimes I forget myself and acetone wipe with my welding gloves on. They heat up pretty fast
