Went to the docs today, following a letter about health screening for us older chaps,
to be honest I may as well not have bothered, the practise had one set of machines for the blood tests and these were being shared by three different nurses, it took two attempts and about five minutes for the nurse to get sufficient blood into the little pipette to put in the machine, the concept of a liquid being expelled if the bulb was pressed when the pipe was only half full was beyond her . I must look like Simon Cowell as my waist measurement was taken on my rib cage, my weight was taken, when I asked should I take my shoes off the response was "it's up to you", the computer was supposed to run a little programme after all the data was entered to assess any health risks and any follow up action to be taken, that apparently wasn't working
anyway I now know for sure I have red blood and a pulse, Can't help but think I was part of some box ticking exercise
