Great film of "how things were" in manufacturing. Here's a similar film from the early '30s which appears to have the original Mr. Cholmondley-Warner doing the narration.
Can't help feeling there was a bit more common sense, loads of sparks, lets all stand back a bit
Oddly enough the sparks were mostly harmless, we would walk through showers of them near the casting tracks.

Saying that, I may be going on a factory visit at Baxi soon, but they only cast ally these days
I installed some robots at a well known copper cylinder manufacturer near Manchester (forgotten the name) in the late 80's, what impressed me the most was spinning copper discs into the dome shape to fit on top of the cylinder, all done on an automated line.
