I love these old manufacturing videos, sometimes I wish I could have been there.

Don't get me wrong, health and safety has a place but things are getting out of hand these days. I wouldn't be surprised if I needed RAM's to go to the toilet at work soon.

All familiar stuff from my time in the Iron foundry in the 70's the comment about hearing the forge hammers a couple of miles away is right, you could hear the same from Smethwick Drop Forgings

Oddly enough the sparks were mostly harmless, we would walk through showers of them near the casting tracks.

Closest I've been to a foundry is the pretend one at Magna

Saying that, I may be going on a factory visit at Baxi soon, but they only cast ally these days

I installed some robots at a well known copper cylinder manufacturer near Manchester (forgotten the name ) in the late 80's, what impressed me the most was spinning copper discs into the dome shape to fit on top of the cylinder, all done on an automated line.

Name escapes me, I could list loads but it would just be a guess
