Headband magnifier

I'm looking for recommendations for one of these. There's a much greater selection out there than I expected, and I've really no idea what's a good make or type or what to avoid. Besides, it'll give me something to put on that Christmas list that I'm constantly being nagged to supply ;o)

It seems Optivisors are the ones to go for then. Price doesn't matter as I won't be paying for them! ;o)

These rechargeable headband magnifiers are really good, they last a long time between charges. Ideal for messing about with chainsaw carbs, starters, alternators etc.

When they were available from Amazon UK. My experience with Zeiss customer service over this magnifier is the reason I will not sell or promote Zeiss Scopes. It was just appalling and I was concerned that a customer could face the same if a sight I sold had an issue;'

Because I got glasses I have a couple of zwiess clip on magnifiers for the fiddley work.
+2 and a set of +2.5,
Really help with fiddley stuff

Interesting thread. I wear contacts with a +4.5 in the right eye and a +2.5 in the left, leading eye. For close up I bought 3 pairs of very cheap +2 readers from which I removed the right lens so I have +4.5 in both eyes. Do these Headband Magnifiers come with separate left and right lens or are the left and right in one piece? Thanks.

Most come with a box of single lenses, that said they could easily be cut in half and glued together.

+1 for optivisor. I have 2 pairs (different magnification) and I use them a lot!

I think (not 100% sure) that their lenses are glass not plastic.

I've got a pair the same that I've used a lot, but the lenses keep dropping off them now, and they're quite heavy on the nose if you put the batteries in for the light. Have got an Optivisor on my Christmas list this year.
