What does the No. 2 mean on the bottom of the green hazchem sign for
Non Flammable Compressed Gas?

If you see a 4.2 on the bootom of one, its time to do one! 4.2 is Spontaneous combustible

That's an "ADR Transport" logo...

They're designed for the fire and rescue services to be able to identify cylinders and containers quickly in the event of fire or an accident

There are a distinct few, as Hitch said, but even then some companies manage to foul it up

Out of preference I label everything nasty/potentially hazardous with them and have a couple on the outside of my garage to keep the insurance and fire service happy...
They prefer them to the standard hazard logos because of the "class" identification...

JFYI, there are actually 3 types of class 2 gases, as it's not just confined to inerts.

Flammables (Propane & Acetylene) and Toxics/poisons all carry the class 2 label too.. albeit different coloured labels.

Red is flams, white is toxics.

Get a magnetic one then only put it on if your mobile and take it off when your parked up

Yer im thinking of the magnetic one's as i will only be carrying it once in a blue moon
so dont see much point having a perminent one.

They state that the labels are "screen printed"...
No number on them but if you ask they might sort it out to be "compliant"...
Other than that if it's 100x100 just get a proper adhesive one and stick it over...

Or get a sheet of this:

Just watch out for your insurance, here in Ireland if I put a sticker on my van stating I am carrying compressed gas and don't tell my insurance company and have an accident my cover becomes nul and void plus by law you dont need a warning sticker if you are only carrying a bottle or 2.

ive had the same conversation with my insurance..Argon they allowed with no charge dont know about the other gasses though
