Hi,

Started building chassis mid September 2012 using 25.4 x 25.4 x 1.5 & 19.05 x 19.05 x 1.5 ERW.

I've been wanting to do this for 50+ years (just turned 69), and now with the help of my son and grandson, I am finally doing it.

I bought a 'Saturn' body kit and a 1990 Sierra 1.8 CVH off eBay.

I have used Chris Gibbs book for dimensions so that the body kit would fit, then I went my own way with triangulation and other details.

I see you have one of the Oxfords from the same series as my two but I can't make out what output it is.... 250A?

Hi, it's a Oxford MIG250 - still going strong after 24 years - great machine.

We need brushes for the feed motor - made some fit from another motor - do you have a source for spares?

Aye, my MIG120s is 1985 and my MIG300 1987 I think... for spares you could try Technical Arc Services in York, they're probably responsible for most MIG welders built in Britain one way or another and carry parts back to the mists of time...

Hello Ron, are you using all the running gear from the 1.8cvh or going with a different engine ? I built a Ron Champion Locost at the turn of the century I sold it a few years ago. Mine had a 2.0 Pinto running gear, old technology but it went well enough. You'll get a lot of greenfly with the yellow bodywork , I had dark green. I met Chris Gibbs a few times at local meets, he built a Locost originally as well. Have a read at locostbuilders for some inspiration and meet some like minded people. Chris got banned off there and started his own forum.
