Haverhill genset.

Has anyone heard of them, are they any good or rubbish?

There have been a couple on Flea-bay that I've been looking at and can't find much info about them on the net.

I'm pretty sure the welder/generator we used to use in work was a Haverhill.
It was a nice set to use .......400amps. Unfortunately the brushes went and were not available so some were bodged up....but there were other earth leakage? problems and no one wants to touch it repair wise.

Anyway what i'm trying to say is the electrical/generator parts for them might be difficult to get, if not impossible.

I used to have one for 4-5 years and it was great having something so versatile and easily moved. Arc welding and 110V and 240V outlets. Brilliant engine Honda GX130.
Having said that the electrics were a pain and I did buy another one for the armature once, had quite a bit of trouble with the brushes and slip ring, it eventually just got too unreliable though, and parts were difficult to come by.
So if the price was right and you are sure it would work it may be worth a go but be careful.
