Might be worth having a look at the Texecom products, they seem to be focusing a lot more on integration with home automation and controlling everything via Smartcom and their Texecom Connect app.
However, I suspect for best results you might end up with the CCTV being a separate ecosystem to the alarm.
I think that will be the issue, just want to get the alarm and cameras in then look at Internet as I suspect initially it will be too expensive, Can we use a mobile phone sim?it would depend on your internet connections that you can get
cctv down the net isnt true cctv just reduced so you can see enough detail and your cctv does that for you to view
are you looking for a system that sends notifications and also a photo or looking for a video feed
Thanks so we could arm it remotely? One issue I was struggling with is which door to use but if we can turn it on and off from outside that would be netterI have a comprehensive Texecom system split into two domains - NOT zones - and easily configured from my phone. I don't bother with key fobs, though I have them instead I just use the app. I went half wired half wireless and I can turn all the alarms on in the workshop from the house and later all of the rest I want to arm from the comfort of my bed. Both workshop and house are divided into zones and I can enable or disable at will. This works extremely well for me and the whole thing is monitored by an outside company and of course the phones.
It is reliable. This means no false alarms at all.
EDIT: if you just want a system that sends you a text if an alarm has been triggered there are a number on Amazon starting around the £90 mark.
If you want some more info drop me a PM
ThanksBoth of the systems discussed are professional systems. These are not meant for installation by DIY users. There are several reasons for this which is not really relevant here.
If you don't have internet you are limited to getting a gsm dialler to send you alarm signals.
An alarm company can get your system monitored by a monitoring station using a communicator that does not need a telephone line but you would have to go through them and have your system maintained by them.
It may be easier to install a couple of cameras and some security lighting. Hide the recorder somewhere or put it into a strong steel enclosure (send me a pm and I will give you some ideas!)
You can get a router that takes mobile phone sim cards, with a data plan you can get remote viewing and have alarm signals to an app on the phone but you will need to pay for that which will be about the same as a broadband connection. Set up may be a bit harder.
this is what bugs me the most with many peopleThanks
Problem is its falling down and on a very tight budget, but we have to make some sort of story, the Alarm will be first dont really want another monthly bill so might have to be a text service one? How much is monitoring?
