I have Pico 140 amp invertor.
I supports LiftArc.
I want to weld some 1.5mm box section.
It can be done with 2mm rods, but it's not easy. So...
I could practice a lot more.
I could get a Tig Torch, but I gather that I would _need_ a proper gas bottle, not just the disposable ones. So now I am into ~ £80 for the torch assemble (weldequipe), and another ~ £100 for the argon bottle & first fill. Then I need quite a bit of practice.
Or I could just get a small Mig, use disposable CO2, (I gather TIG uses more gas, and with MIG I could live with the disposable canisters). Clarke 110 ~ £250 new, so lets say £150 second hand....
Bear in mind this is Hobby Stuff. I don't do this for a living, so I have a limited budges, and and while the welds need to be strong, I can live without them being all that pretty. And I can't spend 8 hours a day practicing.
Any thoughts? Advice? Comments?
Thanks
Dave
