just wondering if anyone has tried this fluid? picked itt up today whilst out getting some odds and sods,
at £7.00 it's worth a punt. a sight cheaper than rocol too...

rocols the business but your partly paying for the name. I got a gallon tin for 10 quid so have no need to try others

Unless your using cutting fluids on CNC machines running 24 hours a day, as long as its wet it doesn't really matter what brand it is. It will be ok.

i use rocol RTD aerosol cutting fluid and it seems to help my drills and jigsaw Blades sharper for longer

Didn't realise that Rocol was available as a liquid - I've got the as-lard-variety, and it's worked great for drilling.
In my amateurish lathing/milling, I've just been throwing 3n1 & WD40 at it.

is that in a tin or a plastic tub? i had some rocol sludge in a tin once and it was the best thing i have used for tool longevity, bought some more in a plastic tub and it wasnt as good, then found the spray and it seems decent but flicks off easy when the drill gets onto it

u can thin the lard paste down with white spirit and dab it on with a squeesy bottle in small amounts

I've got some water mix stuff that I keep in a wash bottle. As welderpaul states, as long as it's wet and has some lubricant properties we will never know the difference in outer home workshops

are u talking about white water for your lathe or cutting compound for drilling and tapping threads ??

White water for lathe and drilling holes on drill press and tallow for tapping holes, it's a hand me down from grandad. I've got a tin big enough to last from my grand children too

It's in a metal tin. Been great on the drill and, to be fair, two years in and it must have another five years left, yet!

i only went through mine so quickly as i was an apprentice working in a tool room at the time...

TBH, it already sprays across me and anything else in a 10m radius so I don't want to thin it any more!

I think that the cleanest and most effective way of applying fluid with minimal wastage is from a small paintbrush. Squirting some on from a bottle usually results in most of it not going where it's needed - you typically only need a drop or two at a time, no more.

i like using a small bottle, just make sure the fluid is thick enough that you can control how much comes out

I was just using aerosols and had lots of wastage, but after seeing Doubleboost's video's, I started using paint match pots (with brush in the lid), and for small holes I have a bottle with a syringe tube on it. The bottle is also good for drip feeding cutting oil when parting off in a lathe. I also use the match pots for slideway oil too.

sorry guys, i shall re-phrase the question.
has anyone tried the TYGRIS brand of oil in my first pic?
for drilling Ive always used the rocol you see pictured but alas the free bottle i acquired is about done so i picked up the tygris stuff in my local engineering suppliers as it was only £7 and seems like good gear. i just wondered if anyone had came across it before? and what there thoughts were on it...
