something like this
that works, I did make one with a set of mole grips and exhaust clamp would be ok for ali tube not stainless.I made a manual one for putting a bead on a bit of alloy that needed to be about 100mm from the end of the tube.
Looked a bit like this

Clamp the flat bit at the bottom in a vice.
It was 10x20 flat bar or something like that.
8mm bolt for the pivot, cut down drill bit shank for the former.
Some more holes for a depth stop and hit the end with a hammer whole turning the tube.
It was surprising how well it worked.
I did think about adding an air chisel to power it but never got that far

It's just tube expanderDon’t boiler welders use something rotary for prepping the ends of the tubes before they weld them?
not sure what the profile is, may just be flared thinking about it
I don't get it.Sandwich of two round steel plates that fits good inside the pipe and a piece of rubber.
Put a bolt thru and tighten.
Rubber is incompressible so it will expand and create a nice bead.
You mean these things I bought just because?Don’t boiler welders use something rotary for prepping the ends of the tubes before they weld them?

I'll see if I find any pics, else I'll sketch it.I don't get it.
Thank youI'll see if I find any pics, else I'll sketch it.

Yeah the valve spring holds the wheels open and the threaded shaft for closing the wheels is from a car jack.I like that one, I am sure I have bits of scrap to make something similar, is that a valve spring I spy
Have you tried running one without the gear as an idler?I have a set for a bead roller, I’ve used them several times but it does tend to skip a bit due to the difference in size of the two parts
