2 thou wear isn't unusual and it's not a lot either, easily within scraping distance.

What part of London are you in? I could lend you a straight edge and scraper if you wanted to tackle it yourself.

It is. When I started the thread I was converting from mm to inch in my head without thinking and decided it was 0.010" for some unknown reason. I have no idea why in hind sight. That said, I've now got it into my head that I want to fix it and won't be happy until I do. Im trying to arrange the loan of Pete's straight edge to allow me to handscrap it myself.
