Hi folks, electrics are not my strong point, any advive on the following appreciated.
My son called in over the weekend and put in a 16Amp socket for the lathe on Sunday, everything worked fine. He is an electrical engineer, though on holiday this week so i do not want to disturb him.
Came out to lathe yesterday and switched on power and nothing, no lights or clicks from interlocks.
First I tested the 16Amp socket and all good using a 16Amp socket to 13 Amp fly lead, powers up tools fine.
Next I opened up the 16Amp plug on the lathe, all looks good and then I checked continuity from the plug to the isolator switch in the lathe again tested ok. I took the cover of the isolator and it was working fine.
I am guessing it is one of the isolators in the startup circuit. All circuit breakers ok. There are isolators on the gearbox door, stop switch, neutral switch and brake.
Any suggestions welcome.
The cabinet:
the isolator
No idea what these are:
The guy i bought the lathe of has offered to call in and have a look next Tuesday if I have no luck.
It is about 20 years since I was last in a machine electrical cabinet, so I am feeling quite rusty fault finding.
