Love it, BUT If I am right it has a 71/2 Hp 3 phase motor--- plenty of power, and a real nice machine, However going down the inverter route could be very, very expensive.
This was a chance purchase off E bay, it was one of two steadies in a job lot, unknown make unknown model it fitted, so the two steadies cost £20 + carriage yonks ago, never found a use for the other one and a revious "help" thread suggested a tool and cutter grinder Steady. I`ts Still lying in the Lathe cupboard, You know--might be usefull one day!!!!! So working on the centre of the lathe chuck/spindle, the 3 popint steady was packed up and the packers shaped to fit the bed web, a clamp to secure it was the easy bit. It does work, and it fits my 140 harrison, More than Happy for £20. Harrison 3 point steadies can fetch silly silly money and for what I use a 3 point cannot justify the expense.
