Agreed, but you just build it into the price you are prepared to bid. I doubt that you could buy one from a dealer (that clean) for much less than £4K +vattrouble is for the private punter is 20 percent vat and 15 percent buyers premium so thats 35 percecent on top of hammer price
I was going to have a punt on this a week ago but the bills piled up behind the door put me off...A lot of machine for Machine Mart money.

I would bet that 140 hasnt done a lot of work, it must be an early one as it has the earlier gearbox as fitted to the L5. I have a late metric one in my workshop & it is my favorite machine, very well made & as accurate as the day it left the Harrison works, it still has its original manual & factory test chart plus a load of tooling. No way i would ever sell it.
Out of interest if anyone has a Fixed steady for a 140 i want one!
That lathe is nearly pornographic I am seriously looking for a 250I know there are a few Harrison enthusiasts on here so I thought this VS330 might be of interest to someone.

DB, I've been looking for a decent 250 for 2 years, needle in a haystack........... unless you want to line the pockets of a dealers for an "ex college" example![]()
exactly the same machine................
same contact details on listing........hedging his bets. judging by the way ebay is rammed with dealers theses days they must be making a killing punting out all these "ex" this and that, hardly used machine tools
£8K...............bit too much pocket money for me that one![]()
