Harley screw threads ?

What threads do the yankies use on their bikes ? I have made a points cover for a harley that is a lot thicker than the original cover and so the screws are not long enough. When i measure the diameter i get 5mm (.190") and 32 tpi. From tables online i am getting this is No.10 american national fine. Is this right does anyone know ? Anywhere in the uk doing stainless fasteners in the american threads ?

we use Cromwell in work to run our stores and we have American national bolts so I would assume they do them.

I have done it a few times on older bikes for people when they say, I cant for the life of me find new bolts for it. ok give it here and shut your eyes. 5 mins later they are all metric and much easier to get

Have you tried eBay? Probably not the cheapest but handy if you only want a few.

Most American stuff seems to be UNC or UNF even now. Presume you only need a couple, I have some 10 32 fasteners here, message me if you can't find what you need elsewhere.

Probably a 1/4" UNF or summat. Most certainly won't be metric

10-32 would be the size.

Around here you can get them anywhere. I'd check ebay if i only want a few. I found on ebay, complete sets of new chrome bolts to replace the ones used in the side covers on my GPz. I know the make them for other bikes.

If your stuck I may have some 5/32 UNF that came out of a Harley I used to work for them and still have a drawer full 11 years later but I will have to get in the shed to see what I have. however drilling out and tapping isn't a problem they are riveted on as standard and then modified to add the squarking parrot crap.
