Looking to repurpose some of the quick action clamps I’ve got on the scrap pile, they’re twisted or the end pad has disintegrated through abuse.

The bar is hardened steel which I assume is going to cause me a little grief when I attempt to marry it up to some mild steel bar with a hot glue gun.

Any tips or tricks? Or am I over thinking it?

Your probably over thinking it, if it’s twisted, it’s not that hard.

just don't let the weld cool quickly or quench it it goes brittle

They will most likely be tempered so a pre heat and slow cooling would be advisable.

Stick weld it with a dissimilar metals rod.
