I'm thinking of making a circular punch so that I can make 10mm circles from 0.8mm sheet steel. These would then be used to fill in holes left from drilled out spot welds on my car restoration project. Hope that makes sense?
I've never hardened or tempered steel though I've seen it done.
Is there a particular grade of steel I need to be searching for on ebay? And will a mini lathe cut such steel, prior to it being hardened of course?
Can I check it's ok to heat the material using an oxyfuel torch, as YouTube videos are doing it using a forge.
