Handy vice

Sweet. Cheers Pete. Had a good idea it will likely be sortable, as those things tend to be fairly bullet proof, from what I hear? Well chuffed that I've finally got my hands on one. Must be well over a couple of years since I started looking for one. Every time I've checked Ebay before though, they always seem to either command silly money else be too far away for me to collect. Shouldn't be too long, hopefully, before I know. Picked it up today. It's bigger than it looked in the photo's. Sturdy bit of kit. I'll be having a ganders at it once I've got the fuel filter and battery connections sorted on the truck, (I'm not risking sidetracking myself by looking at it before I sort those ).

My old man has one of those at 80 I dont think he will be using it much so I might stick it on ebay for him, and let him use the money instead lol

Its mounted to a great big fence post....or it was last time I saw it! lol

Well, seeing as my filter bracket was cut, drilled, painted and drying, decided to have a quick ganders at the vice seeing as I'd sorted that task. Found an Air Ministry mark on it, dated 1936, so it's quite an oldie.

Can't see any damage, so it looks like the closing problem is hopefully just due to some gunk and possibly a bit of minor rust on the barrel.

Aye, I tend to be somewhat erratic in the sleeping dept. too. Night time is just such a peaceful time to work.
