I use plastic Aldi peanut butter jars as well. Screw the lid to underneath of a shelf and you have a see through container which doesn't break when you drop it. I put stuff like pop rivets and nuts, bolts and washers up to M8 as I always seem to use lots.

i normaly cut them up for repairs to stuff

Makes sense and saves cutting up another washing machine
