Is it just me that buys Christmas biscuits based mainly on the usefulness of the empty tin?

You can, I have so many tins with nuts, bolts, little brackets, screws all that kind of stuff that I can never find the right tin really do need to sort them out!

I've progressed to the (weak) plastic pots that washing liquid sachets come in, at least they're see through.

I recently found a barn collection of old 5 gallon drums which will make good storage for larger items.

i use old marge tubs as thy fit inbetween roof joists just screw bit of pallet wood up and bingo.
also mates wife gets loads of baby milk tins.

Of course what you really need is one big tin (to rule them all?) to keep all thoes smaller tins in it's called a SKIP.

Me Grandad must have about 100 of these tins
50 are full with usefull things like tacs, panel pins etc, the rest are full up with assorted second hand screws

Looks like the tins are worth much more than whats in them!

I`ve always used the old trick of screwing the lid of a jar to the underside of a shelf, that way the content of the jars are visible and always readily accesable. Just take the jars you need and put them back when youve finished. You can make a bank of shelves for this purpose alone and it would only need to be 100mm deep so most of it would be found n the offcuts bin

Yes - produced about 400 kilos and going strong. Hoping to put something up in the projects section soon.
