Would that be a stain on his license? Not with your hands down your trousers and porn on the display.
I know an artic driver caught doing just that in a artic got a few points on his licence
Not in my new TVNo worse them without it, mostly they will leave it on.
Christ a computer is far quicker than a human
What do you have to do to lose your licence in this country.Would that be a stain on his license?![]()
If every vehicle was being tracked and controlled it would probably be safer. But mixing software with humans is a recipe for disaster
Too unpredictable.
Computers can't be made which can command a robot to do most human sports and physical activities..unless you count chess as a 'sport'..With regards to computers being faster than our brains
How easy would it be to program a robotic arm and camera to catch a ball thrown randomly
Something most of us do without a seconds thought yet a huge amount of calculations take place in order to do so
or driving it would seem.Computers can't be made which can command a robot to do most human sports and physical activities..unless you count chess as a 'sport'..
Equally there are some things which humans could not do without the aid of computers, eg flying the euro fighter - applying human achievements to things computers can/can’t do, while not irrelevant, shouldn’t be the question - it should be a simple question of can it do the task of driving well enough to allow us to use it. If yes, then fine, if no then don’t.Computers can't be made which can command a robot to do most human sports and physical activities..unless you count chess as a 'sport'..
The day they invent an operating system and computer that is guaranteed not to crash, with no possible way of anyone uploading a virus, i'd maybe consider it.
I can se it being disastrous until most vehicles are fitted with all the tech... lane guidance adaptive cruise control etc
The trouble is that the systems will never be rolled out overnight, and for maybe the first five years, maybe ten, there will be a small number of cars (ok their number will increase over time) with the system fitted but during those years you would have a recipe for disaster with people assuming that the car in front does/does not have the system fitted.
What happens when you have a blowout in the fast lane...the computer thinks, "hmm...speed is fine....no cars in front....oh car has had a blowout....better bring the car to a rapid stop" IN THE FAST LANE! No thankyou!!!

Are they proposing to take the steering wheel and pedals away as wellSame sort of thing if a motorway comes to grinding halt in the fog, I would sooner scoot up a motorway bank or throw it down the hard shoulder than sit there waiting for the inevitable.
Bob
People have enough issues concentrating on the road ahead of them now when there supposed to be driving. Are they proposing to take the steering wheel and pedals away as well- from what I understand all of the above will still be possible, if you want to.
