Here's a job a I did yesterday. All cut and fabricated on site so had to take a boat load of equipment with me. The welding was done sat on the steps so I'm feeling it today!

Good guess, 44 degrees. It's sad when you remember these details the day after making lots of 22 and 21.5 degree cuts
There is brand new carpet in the bedrooms. I had to be careful when I welded the brackets on the end not to let the hot end rest on the threshold of one room
The only flat surface to use a chop saw was in the front living room. Outside there is piles of rubble and s#!+€ everywhere.
Space was tight

What did you polish the welds out with?

Flap disk for most of the work but I borrowed a hand held linisher to re grain. You can re grain with emery tape and a scotch pad but obviously slower.

Thats a good question! The customer supplied all the parts and materials and asked me to just turn up and make something. He pulled the hand rail tube out of a building site scrap metal skip!!
It came complete with paint speckles and cement blobs stuck to it.

He’ll ring you up on Monday and ask you to take it off and fit it on the opposite wall (‘Client change’/set it out wrong)

3m strip and clean disc, and a 3m yellow bristle wheel are cracking for this sort of thing.
