I've got chop saw band saw and a donkey saw but sometimes it's easier to hand saw. Before all those things I hand sawed everything.Chop saw?

I you hold over the diagonal you can see your two marks simultaneously and it's easier to keep your bearings. Give it a go you'll be surprised at what a difference it makesuKeeping the cut line square is my problem

Normally I tend to agree ,,, but you must be cutting the same amount of material ,, or it wouldnt be cut , if it was less material it would still be stuck on ... or am I missing something here ?I hold it like that in the band saw.
You’re cutting less material so it’s easier on the blade
lol ,,, it does look that way at first glance .I like the hacksaw's blade tensioner mod.
No you aren’t missing anything.Normally I tend to agree ,,, but you must be cutting the same amount of material ,, or it wouldnt be cut , if it was less material it would still be stuck on ... or am I missing something here ?
I actually twigged thats probably what you meant after Id written my reply , but then again do you use a hacksaw flat on the inital cut on a flat anything held in a vise ,, I use a hacksaw with the same sort of down at the front angle as I would a wood saw,,, so Im seldom cutting over the full flat width of a box section , genuine question , always keen to pick up a tip or two , every days a school day.No you aren’t missing anything.
Badly worded reply sorry! I meant you’re only cutting 2xwall thickness at most. If you have the section with the top face horizontal you have to cut the full width on the top face and then again on the bottom face.
Makes no real odds on small box but on 150x150x4 for example that’s a lot of cutting. I know with a hacksaw you have less teeth in the cut but bandsaw doesn’t always follow that way.
Equally badly worded post but hopefully it makes the previous one as clear as mud
You wouldn’t with a hacksaw but bandsaw is a different animal. It does come down at an angle but it flattens near the bottom of the cut so if the material is square to the jaws you’re cutting through all the bottom wall.I actually twigged thats probably what you meant after Id written my reply , but then again do you use a hacksaw flat on the inital cut on a flat anything held in a vise ,, I use a hacksaw with the same sort of down at the front angle as I would a wood saw,,, so Im seldom cutting over the full flat width of a box section , genuine question , always keen to pick up a tip or two , every days a school day.
