Halfords trade card

Need a new battery, looked on Halfords and the own brand, non stop/start one is £79

I think that will be great with trade discount, so I log in, price is £79 but shows a £20 discount, suggesting the full price is £99

Feeling like it isn't really a £20 discount I go on my work laptop, on a browser that has never been on Halfords, not logged in and it still shows £79

Do they assume we all stay logged in or use the app, I always check the non trade prices. This is the first time I have been offered an imaginary discount

They have some weird pricing - some things are cheaper with trade card but some things aren’t. It’s a bit of a lottery to be honest.

It's more the fact of the discount not being real, if I did guest checkout or a new non trade account it's the same price

Mrs has been keeping an eye for some time on some cabinets we need. They are fairly big so we don't want them before we have finished decorating. They have been in the black Friday sale..Big sales banners..Same price as they have always been. Con.

Halfords have always been decent with trade for batteries, even the huge AGM stop start thing in the Insignia was far cheaper than anywhere else

However, pretending to give me money off is the fastest way for me to go elsewhere

ive found results really do depend on brand, ive had plenty of lion, exide and halfords own fail within warrenty as well as just outside it
out of curiosity what battery type is it? could have a browse for you someone might find one cheaper?

punch the battery size into ebay and see what they want for a varta deleivered next day , halfords never come near enough for me

I've had a look round, next option is a Lion for a few quid more, and further away to collect

Bought an 063 battery from halfords on my tradecard this morning, reduced from £76 to £50. It was £65 at a sale price but still a good saving with the tradecard.
I did find they tried to put a £35 fitting charge on the price, you didn't misread it and it was priced cheaper but had a fitting charge included?
