WD40 can be a good sticker remover.

I don't know who makes them now, but Halfords first cabinets were made by who ever makes Snap-On cabinets in the states.

I used to do all their servicing of MTB Suspension. As part of that work they gave me 6 roller cabinets. It turned up they could not sell these as they were apparently too heavy for the customer to carry out of the stores. Still have 3. Bloody good cabinets.

i'm actually in the market for a tool chest / box at the moment, any advice on which to choose? is halfords a good option?

I used a heat gun on mine, i got the halfords pro 7 drawer chest and a roller cab on their recent web off for £200.... the only chest they had in stock at my local one had a tiny dink in the top so they knocked off another £25

im happy with the quality of them for the money.

Keep an eye out around bank holidays as they always have tool deals on

I use a Halfords tool chest a big red one about 4 small draws across the top and about 4 long draws down the front,Had it about 7 years now and just like new really pleased with it.

i have the big black industrial one, top box and roll cab, and its held its own in a garage surrounded by snapon boxes lol, the best bit is get one when its on a deal or if you have a trade card as you get it dirt cheap for what it is, i was gonna be buying another one but im looking at coming out of the garage game for the moment so its coming home

I've got the industrial top and bottom box (black one as above). Like it a lot, it get's hobby use in my home garage, but seems to take knocks/grease/tools no problem. Still nice and shiny! I even thought about waxing it once...

I find that hard to believe as Snap-On makes all their own cabs in house apart from some cheaper types branded Blue-Point and certain models made in Canada. I've never seen a tool cab as well made as the premium range from Snap-On, certainly nothing from Halfrauds. Only stuff that gets close is Beta and Hazet.

Only what I was told fella. And while the pictures don't prove anything, I had no reason to doubt the guy. There is another stamping with what looks like a Span On part code, but I can't find it.

I have had one of thier red top chests for nearly 10 years. It is still really nice and has held up to enthusiastic ameteur use very well. A couple of years ago, I went to supplement it with more of the same. The new red range is really nasty compared to the older stuff, so ended up buying the black industrial units (top and bottom - just after christmas the offer seems to be buy the rollcab, and get the top chest thrown in, plus we'll knock £50 off the rollcab too...).

In terms of removing Stickers - I used a can of Label Remover acquired from CPC. The 'Sticky Stuff Remover' is also good stuff, and I believe available from Halfords...

No, they don't look like Snap-On to me. They look better then anything I've seen at Halfords though ! There are a number of good qaulity tool cab manufacturers in the USA though, so it's probably one of those.

If you buy one from Halfords try and check it for damage before you take it home one of the blokes at work bought a top box and roll cab and they both had dents in them. He ended up with the display ones in the end, but he did well in free tools in compensation.

very heavy and very well made bought my last one for £150 so a lot cheaper than anything else out there..
