Half inch routers

1/4” one scares me enough, don’t think I’m ready for a bigger one yet!!

I have 2 Hitachi x 1/2 routers, both 4 HP....
prob getting on for 30 years old now........
One is perm in my router table the other hand held.....
Never ever had any probs with them....
I always go for the big router, have plenty of 1/4 x6mm but dont really like em....to light weight....
My other go too router is a Makita trim router...

Looks like Hikoki is the winner and still change left over for a palm router and a bag of chips.

Well. I realised that a palm one is a bit more urgent for a current project. I can go cordless with that and Hikoki suits me for battery so looked at getting that and the M12.
ITS - just under £400
Tools4trade - roughly the same but with ¼ and ¹½ inch bits.

I've used both outlets without any issue depending on their deals/offers.

Until Milwaukee up their game, I'm no longer a fan, pity because I really liked the brand and their older tools are still a favorite of mine.

I had a Dewalt for a few year. It was a copy of the Elu/Trend and a good router in my opinion.

+1 for DeWalt corded...solid bit of kit with easy to use setup.

If you're cutting kitchen joints then don't lift the router before it's stopped spinning...don't ask...I now have x2 joint templates!

I've no idea if there are models with a brake...would be good as the DeWalt I have takes a while to stop...annoying when I'm doing 5mm passes.
