I was doing something today and got the hacksaw out, after a couple of strokes the blade snaped and I got a little annoyed. After taking a deep breath and standing back I stopped doing what I wanted to and promptly decided to restore the tired old hacksaw, removed all the rust cleaned up the little pins that hold the blade and rubbed it all down with 240 and 500 wet n dry, quick blast with some etch primer and followed up with two coats of satin black on the frame. I now have a Starrett No 144 hacksaw ready for another 30 years of service!!
It's quite satisfying to restore simple everyday tools that often get overlooked and it's light years better than the Stanley Fat Max hacksaw that I've also got !!!
