GYS Smartmig 152?

I'm looking at a GYS Smartmig 152 for general fab work on bikes round the workshop etc, has anybody got experience of them?
I've got a welding suppliers near me that has them in stock so warranty work should be ok but are they a decent machine?

The boys from Barnett are good lads, tell Oliver I said hello.
And yes, the 152 is exactly the same build quality wise as the 162 we often sell and apart from the transformer the internals are the same so you shouldn't expect any nasty surprises.

As above,I have the 162, running on a out in the sticks 240 volt (on a good day). You should be fine with the 152, I have found the GYS kit punches well up to its weight, my 162 has enough guts to Run 1.2 mm flux core and I aint hit the duty cycle ever.
So I reckon you can count on getting 150 amps or near as out the 152 if you need it.
If I had skin space, I woud get GYS tattoo.
Talk to Jim or the boys at Barnett about the new Easymigs -inverters, euro torch, stick function, and a neat cable tail to change polarity-no faffing about.

Thanks guys, the lads at BWS are a good bunch. I get my gas there and have recommend them to others. So the GYS sounds like some good kit and the shop is only 15 minutes away.
I only have to get past the missus before I can buy a new mig.....
I promised to help with a school project making a sculpture out of old garden tools but didn't realize I would have to take the welder to the school! I can't really take the tig and it's not really the best thing for welding up bits of rusty metal!
I'll have a think .

Well I've gone a bought an easymig 140 inverter mig.
I spent over an hour with Oliver asking questions and he gave me a demo of the machine fitted the gas pipe and set it up, everything.
As norlander says it comes with a tail for easy swapping between mig and arc welding, it's an inverter so it's small and light and has a euro torch!
It even has a mini reg and small bottle of 80/20 gas.
Welded some 5mm plate with ease so plenty of power for my needs.
It can also be used for gasless welding.
I'm off the the garage to: 1 play with my welder 2: get out of the house......
I might do a small review once I've got everything set up and something to actually weld!

Did you weld the 5mm on MIG? should be no probs, but with that set you have stick as well. The beauty of MIGs though is their versatility, 5mm, tweak the knobs and do 0.75/ 1mm, change the wire and stick stainless together.
So I always like to know how blokes get on with thinner stuff, to be fair, there is a bit of knack ( but easily learned) doing thin stuff but my trusty 162 does lighter stuff even on 0.8, and 0.9 f/c so you should be right with yours.
Enjoy your new kit, weld up a trolley for it.

You now have to start the day at 0700 with a strong coffee and cognac chaser, take two hours for lunch, don't indicate in roundabouts and drive up the Rs of the car in front.

Yes just tested on mig. Worked very nicely.
About that last paragraph, I DON'T own a BMW or Audi
