Thinking of buying one of the above,just wondering if they is any difference between the yellow and the white versions. so my real questions is the white one an updated version or just a change of paint, if I do buy one I would want the most up to date model

I believe the white gys machines are their “industrial” range. So they will be designed more with work place in mind. I’m not entirely sure what these design differences are but I’d imagine the chassis will be built to take a bit more grief and the layout probably better suited for coping with dust ingress @Tom Orrow L can give more details I’m sure

The Pearl Range has recently been brought into their industrial range, nothing component wise has been changed, it’s just a different lick of paint but my goodness.. it looks 100% better than it did before.

Love my GYS muilti pearl 200 - 2 . I've had it for nearly three years , I always run it & store it under a 6x 6 foot bit of light cotton old bed sheet to keep dust & grinding crud out of the machine & thus off the circuit boards & out of the feed motor bits .

There is a project lightly in hand to make decent filter screens in a slip over clipped down plywood cover to get rid of the sheet . It will have a s perspex front window, hinged, to get access to the adjustment & programming knobs panel.

In the time I've had it I've managed to do several hundred feet of wire and rod welds . Using the inverter is like walking into the TARDIS with a light wand compared to how my 35 yr old SIFF 200 turbo fan buzz box was.

I offer that you get a second regulator , use two separate flow meters too and get a second connection hose. As it's a *u*ger to keep messing with a spanner taking them off to change over gases from CO2 to Argon etc.. When with the second set of gear already attached all you need to do is pull the quick release coupling after turning the gas off and slip the new one on then open the gas up & purge the system .. Having a dedicated alu torch is handy too as it helps a quick change over to a clean free of ferrous contaminants set up . I still have to actually seriously weld some alu with it but that should have changed by this time next year.

My wife has told me to paint my Man cupboard out so it matches the welder as it looks so nice ..

I'm the same as DAPPH but mine is the 200-4 yellow one. I've hammered it but it is still going strong, Not sure what your going to use it for. Its money well spent and should last you a while.

Nope, it’s exactly the same. Think we’ve got one yellow one left that we’re trying to shift cheaper than the white ones.

I did 25 yrs with a Migmate - then bought one of these . . . now I always seem to be looking around for things to keep welding after a finishing a job. it's so nice to use ;-)

And I've used full size 3phase MIG in the past, so I'm not simply comparing it with the Migmate.
