Been keeping myself busy during lockdown building gym kit for folk I know - easy to tout for business when all the big retailers are out of stock!!!

First port of call was a local strongman athlete - due to no gym access he was in dire need of a platform for him (and his much shorter wife!) to train atlas stones.

Made a fully adjustable platform using 50x50x4mm uprights, 40x40x4mm cross bars and 4 off 70x70x5mm "sliders".

Pins and tray etc also made by me.

And for project #2 it was a stand for a boxing bag "something really sturdy if you can?"

Knocked this one together in about an hour and a half after cutting the bits for it.

Bit of a chuckle transporting it from Edinburgh to Glasgow in a BMW Compact... obviously kept it in two pieces, but even the stand had to be stuck out the window just to fit 90% of it in the car!!

Popped to the fella's gaff, levelled it all up and stick welded it together in his garage. Job's a good'un.

As for "sturdy" - I'm 18.5st just now and was doing pullups off the end of it no problem

Today’s offerings - all made up in one weekend, plus a few cans whilst painting it!

Well, decided to hit up a few folk I know who run some “big boy” gyms.

immediately got an order in for a squat cage for a strongman gym, who had baulked at the idea of spending £3000+ on a cage made of 2/3mm steel... just need to add some top bracing and they’ll be able to use the back of it for log pressing as well!

Of course, they didn’t stop there.

“can you?” is how most of their communication to me begins... so tonight i knocked together an adjustable car deadlift frame for them.

More coming today: dropped off the car deadlift frame and a Viking Press last night - heading in to install it (and do some general repair work on their dumbbells and some pressing machines as well) shortly!
