Been looking at plasma cutters and came across the following terms and conditions for a Chinese seller.
1.The warranty period is two years; we will provide free parts for repair, but it does not include the staff maintenance services.
2. Before leaving the factory, each welding machine is tested and inspected many times. However, because we use DHL Express delivery, the machine transportation may cause loose connections, which is normal. Before testing, please check whether the internal connections are connected.
3. If a machine breaks or fault, our engineers will provide a test and detection method. The buyer must meet the requirements and follow the test methods to present the test results.
4. If necessary, the buyer must meet the requirement of the engineer to provide inside photos and testing video of the welding machines.
5. We have the responsibility to help buyers return the machine to normal use condition, but no additional compensation.
When I saw No.2 I smiled- you need to dismantle the machine and check the internal wiring before using it!!!! That would be instant nullification of most guarantees. Then if you have problems it would appear you need to buy yourself a video camera and send a movie of the faulty machine according to No.4- unusual customer service.
Having said that I suppose for a seller in China to offer any kind of guarantee is difficult and it's no bad idea to try to get the buyer to do all he can to sort out the problem without having to return the machine. From what I've read on this site the seller (Shop River) is pretty genuine so I'd probably go ahead anyway but without the recommendations of forum posters here I would be really sceptical. The value of community forums- excellent.
