I was having problems with Freeview signal breaking up occasionally and read about some magnetic device to even out the signal so I decided to make my own by running the coax through a steel conduit and attaching a magnet to the outside. I was amazed at the lack of difference it made

You should have run your heating oil pipe through the same conduit and been amazed at how much no difference it made to your heating costs.

Reminds me of some of the ******** surrounding the different sounds attributed to certain guitar pickups - rich, deep, mellow etc on top of the standard sharp, clear, buzz free etc. 90% bullocks

They appear to be indicating the possibility of human spontaneous combustion if you don't buy their stuff. There is a thread on an "ex-pat forum" I will not mention the name of. It is long and somewhere in the middle descends into talk of being able to hear the electrical current flowing through the wires causing upset and migraines. Before the thread was locked it morphed into an argument about Linky meters and how they drastically overestimate consumption, it was headache inducing to read and no amount of logic from the more balanced contributors swayed the thread back to normalcy.
I would say myself and most people with a pulse suffer from one or more of those listed complaints from time to time, that's life.

I deleted my Bogus Crap folder because I wasted too much time trying to find the most ridiculous claims, also it cost me two YouTube accounts because my comments broke the community rules. I am racking my brain trying to recall the name of the English bloke who was peddling crystals and other wizardry to improve the sound from your already high-end gear, he was lengendary.

I know who you mean but I can't remember either. I believe he came up with folding one of your curtain corners to improve your hifi sound.

I mentioned this thread to my dearest last night and chuckled about being drawn to pointing and laughing at the daftness of "believers". She reminded me that there are several daisy wheels carved into the soft stone that our place is constructed from, near the entrances. It seems humans don't change much over the centuries, only difference that it cost nought for whoever it was carved those wheels, just some time, if it made them feel safe all well and good.
