Modern hairspray doesn't work.
The old (pre-CFC days) type contained solvent and a thicker, stickier laquer.
The laquer stuck to the bars, then the solvent welded the grips to the laquer.
Ditto. Worked a treat when I fitted some El Cheapo heated grips on my old Blackbird. I'd not even think of using anything else if I had to do it again.
We used to fit heated wuad grips with some Wurth special plastic/rubber adhesive in a lottle squeezy bottle, worked a treat, like black super glue, but not as quick drying so you could position them better!
Got the araldite out this morn so hopefully that may work warmed bars first to give glue a chance and applied to grip and rotated on so evenly spread , wurth products are good ,looks hopefull thx c
