Grinding Sparks - Paint Damage?

Yep I've done it while grinding near the wife's car it's an **** to get off

You can't get it off it burns into the paint and leads to rapid rusting

It also burns into glass, as my sitting room front window can attest...

Yep even at a fair distance way past the visible spark is seen

The OP hasn't been online since the day he posted, so I guess we'll never know. My project cars side rear window has quite a few sparks from grinding. It melts the glass and leaves tiny bits of metal embedded. Going over it a few times with G3 paste and a scraper wrapped in a thin cloth has helped a bit.

I had a grinding spark melt into my stainless steel watch case. It has been there for a couple of years now as a rusty lumpy spot. Having put up with it all this time I eventually filed it off last night with a diamond hone.
Hope you get sorted at the garage.
