Working on doing up a couple of grinders at the moment. One's an old Van Dorn 8" grinder, (pic as it was when I got it):
and an old belt driven grinder. Got the paint stripped off most parts of the electric grinder now, and repainted the end housings and the frame of the belt grinder.
Still getting back into the swing of brush painting, (hence why I picked small pieces to start with, which don't need to be nigh on perfect, but it would be nice if they were), so they're not perfect, but could've turned out worse, I think? Starting to quite like that dark blue colour now. Was in two minds about it to start with, but it's growing on me.
The base of that Van Dorn has split in half and has been welded back together, at some point in the past, so I have to try and file/grind the welds down before I can get that bit painted. The centre strip for the motor housing, (with the info plates on), has been stripped of paint and appears to be made from stainless, with brass plates, so I'm thinking that might be best left as is, no paint?
