Hey, what causes the whispy white haze ( curved like a c shape in the direction of travel) on either side of my tig welds? This is mild steel 2mm thick and 316l stainless steel filler, 8lpm argon, 80 amps, 7 seconds postgas, purple tungsten @ 2.4mm dia and 9mm stick out ground to 30 degrees, 2-3mm between tungsten and work piece, number 6 cup / 10mm. I’m not interested in huge gas lenses, I really want to get my technique right and fix my issues rather than cover them up with huge gas flow. Thanks in advance.
Second attempt at tig welding so very new.
