How ya doing! I'm A newly retired 62 year old guy from Stacy MN. Stacy is about 40 miles north of the Twin Cities.
I have welded in one form or another since I was 10 YO but not as A pro. My father and uncle were professional welders and I learned from them and in trade school. I was A building maintenance/steam engineer for the city of St. Paul for 28+ year's and welding was A part of my duties during my tenure.
I also was an auto mechanic for 16 year's before I switched to maintenance work and I still do 90% of my own auto and truck repair. I have 2 Ford Broncos, A Ford F-250, A F-150, A Hyundie Santa Fe and 2 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle's. I also have A BMW motorcycle.
My shop consists of A 40' x80' pole building and I have A 3 car garage that the motorcycles live in. All this sits on A 6 acre "hobby farm" that I do no farming on although I do have A 1959 Farmall 400 tractor if I get the farming bug some day. I bought the tractor because it has A loader on it and is A lot handier than A winch or A gantry getting stuff on and off trailers.
That's enough about me for now. I wouldn't want to put you all to sleep especially if your at work!

Welcome, Mrs. KF is from DC, which is a world away from Minnesota. But I do have some friends who visit in laws there. But only in the summer.

Sorry for the delay but I have had A busy week. Putting brakes on my F-250 and A garage door on the pole shed.
My BMW is A 1969 R-69S. I bought it in the mid 1980's and used it as A commuter bike for several year's and now I use it to go get Auto part's and groceries now and then. She could use A clutch and the paint's not getting any better with age but then again neither am I.
The weather here has been perfect all week for A change. Mid 80's for highs and low 60's at night. Just right for sleeping without the air conditioning on. This time of year highs in the 90+ range would not be uncommon. We had A very bad winter last season. Lot's of snow and cold and it lasted well into April. The prognosticators are predicting an equally bad winter this year. At least I don't have to drive in it any longer if they are right.

Welcome Ron, Seems like you have plenty of nice toys to keep you busy,Also nice when you retire and in the winter can look out of the window at the snow and settled back with another cup of coffee not having to battle your way to work.

That's for sure! But than again I have been doing that for year's as I have worked afternoon or the overnight shift my whole career. Nice to getup early and see my neighbors off to there horrible commute while I crawl into A nice warm bed!
I hope to buy A travel trailer in the near future and spend part of the winter in one of our warmer state's. Over here we call them snow birds. They fly south for the winter.
